ABOUT PERFORMEDIA'S SAMPLES Below are some samples of content and portals created the Performedia way. You may notice the content is captured and produced at a quality level you may not have experienced before. This is because, at Performedia, we believe content is just as important, if not more so, than the virtual event platform from which it is accessed. We have a history in broadcast television, and we bring that sensibility to all the content we capture and create for you. When it comes to our portals, we don't just hand you a platform and the manual, we deliver an end-to-end service, at 1/2 to 1/3 what our competitors charge for their software rental, because we know you're not overstaffed or over-budgetted. And you may notice everything comes up quickly. That's because of the clouds - Akamai where our streaming content lives and Amazon where our web content resides. Enjoy! CHECK OUT OUR NEW PLAYER! Performedia will be rolling out a new player in January 2011, that will once again help define state of the art in the field. It includes the ability to enlarge the player or individual video windows to full screen at will, integrated chat and note-taking, word search, and more. See it as applied to a Booth Demo from the Digital Government Conference.
CONFERENCE SESSIONS We recognize the importance not just of good content, but good content production values. Performedia is a veteran producer of high quality conference session video with synchronized slide screen movies, indexing, Ask a Question, and viewer tracking. Our clients know this not something that just anybody with a camcorder or even an AV company can do properly. Our cameras can virtually see in the dark (down to 1 lux) so we never have to set up lights, and your speakers always look great! Wellness as a Business Strategy Session from American Psychological Association 2010 Spring Conference - This is an educational session from an APA conference that features synchronized slide content and captions. Associations appreciate that Performedia can bring educational content to the majority of members who typically can't make it to association events. Impelsys Sponsored Session from Digital Book World 2010 - This is a typical sponsored session from a conference that demonstrates why online sessions shouldn't have the slide screen limited to static slides, the way so many of our competitors do. Awfully hard to experience the tennis videogame demo that way . . . When one slide screen isn't enough - then we can show two in our player - like this example for Google which wanted to show how the Department of Defense used Google Earth to help Haiti after the quake, with live demos of Google Earth in one window and slides in the other. Continuing Education for Professionals - from the Case Management Society of America 2010 annual conference. Continuing education is a hot content area for events, both in terms of bringing in attendees and in bringing in revenue. The CMSA members who pay to access this session (and 17 other CE sessions from the show), then fill out the pop-up evaluation at the end, will get 2 hours of CE credit. Pre-Conference Workshop Session - on Google Analytics from the 2010 eMetrics Summit. Conference workshops are another content type online attendees have proven they are willing to pay for. Attendees to this virtual event can register for free, but will have two pre-conference workshops they can pay to attend.
VIRTUAL TRADESHOW BOOTH DEMOS So often what you see in a virtual tradeshow booth is little more than an electronic business card. But there can be so much more! At Performedia, we pioneered the virtual booth demo, where we go to booths at a physical show, set up a light, put a little powder on the presenter, give them a little coaching, and then bring the pitch they have been presenting at the show to life online. Not only do exhibitors get their booth demo viewed in their virtual booth at the online event, but they can post it on their website separately, and even get a local version to hand out at future shows on a flash drive or CD Rom. Fujitsu booth demo from FOSE 2010 - This is a good example of a booth demo that includes both hardware and software demonstrations, as well as English captions. Getting the big picture - Pack Expo 2010 - Sometimes the video is more important than the accompanying presenetation, and sometimes there are no slides at all. Pack Expo turned to Performedia to capture exhibitors' machinery demonstrations at their physical event. Hill-Rom booth demo from CMSA 2010 - This is a good example of a hardware-oriented booth demonstration, captured at the Case Management Society of America annual conference. IBM/Lotus Software Demonstration Booth Demo - Corporations like Performedia's approach because it allows them to demo new software, websites, etc. exactly the way they are showing them at events. Here is an example from IBM's Lotus booth at UBM's XChange conference for technology integrators. Booth Demo captured without a Booth - Sometimes booth demos need to be created prior to arriving at the event, or after the event is over. Performedia's flexibility allows for creation of such content virtually anywhere and at any time. Often we will travel to the exhibitor's offices, or sometimes we will capture the content completely remotely. It all depends on what is needed - like this booth demo we created for the American Psychological Association after their live event was over.
MARKETING EVENTS Many Performedia clients use our services as a tool of their marketing effort, to promote a big new software launch, to bring attention to a new publication, to communicate a message to the public. Up till now these messages have often been delivered through road shows and other in-person events. Now we are helping marketers reach all the people who couldn't be there in person. Infoblox - Live Event Online and in Gatherings Around the World Network Infrastructure Control firm Infoblox turned to Performedia to bring a presentation by one if its reknowned gurus, not only live on the internet, but to live audiences gathered in hotel meeting rooms in cities all over the world. This gave local sales reps a chance to reconnect with clients and prospects, as well as to have them all participate and ask questions of a top company executive. Market Connections Promotes New Study Release Research firms want their sphere to know when new studies come out, and one way to augment the audience at the press conference is to extend the reach to the web. When asked to register, simply use one of our email addresses, peter@performedia.com, to log in.
CONFERENCE PROMOS AND OTHER HIGH-END VIDEO Performedia is often asked to create a promo video for events from which we are also capturing content. Performedia provides a very cost-effective package that includes on-site interviews and "b-roll" capture, transcripts with timecode, scripting, professional narration, licensed music, editing, and delivery as both a high-quality DVD (in either High Def or Standard Def) and streaming versions, such as you see below. We also create other high end but cost-effective video for a wide range of customers ranging from the National Association of Broadcasters to Symantec Corporation to United Business Media. Promo Video for eMetrics Summit - This is a promo we created for the world's premier web analytics event. Daily Video Highlights Segments for NABShow - NAB wanted to make their event website a destination for those who couldn't attend the show in person. One of the ways they accomplished this was to have Performedia create fresh 16x9 widescreen highlights video segments each day with the latest news and buzz from the show.
VIRTUAL EVENT PORTALS Performedia provides a full range of virtual event portal solutions from simple cost-effective menu driven portals that register and track the users' activities to more fullsome experience virtual event platforms that provide much of the look and feel of a real show, including expo halls, content auditoriums, networking lounges, and more. Performedia's Menu Driven Portal Packs a Punch - This event portal for the highly respected Digital Government Institute is an example of a simple but very effective approach to events portals. This cost-effective solution registers and tracks users while providing access to sessions, exhibitors and networking. eCommerce Helps Pay the Bills - Many of our customers cover the cost of their virtual events by selling access to either all the content or to a subset of premium content in their virtual event portal. Performedia helps out by providing a wide range of ecommerce options including separate pricing for separate tracks as well as individual sessions, discount codes, and anti-sharing techniques. Here is Rising Media's Predicitive Analytics World 2010. Yankee Group's 4G World Virtual 2010 - Yankee Group's 4G World is the largest event in the industry. Performedia provided a rich platform by partner Expos2 plus a content mix to bring this event to life as a "hybrid" virtual event (a virtual event based on a physical event). Virtualizing 4G World ensures Yankee Group the ability to reach attendees around the world who could not be at the event in person. Pack Expo 2010 - This is how the world's biggest packaging machinery show looks as a virtual event. On site at the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) annual conference, there are 45,000 attendees and 1700 exhibitors. Online, the portal by partner Inxpo provides access to sessions, and the expo hall is where attendees can visit the exhibitors and tour their exhibits any time and anywhere that suits them. Use the user name "packexpo" and the password "packexpo" to log in.
